This is just a WARNING to anyone here. Watch out for this guy, will take advantage of you and he does not give you a of list or quote of materials, he just gives you a quote to how much he thinks it will cost to fix it. Average rates for HVAC is under $100 per hour, but he basically charged my elderly mom over $350 an hour and refused to provide a breakdown of costs or parts.
I called Dave who was recommended on Yelp to help my Mom on her house's AC. He seemed pretty trustworthy, he came out once to give an estimate of $800 to repair the unit.
When he came back later to repair the unit, he found other things wrong and fixed a drain pan that had holes in it with tape and did a normal inspection/cleaning of the AC, saying we need to replace it in a year. After the job was done we received his bill, thinking he couldn't completely fix the AC and we were hoping it wasn't the full $800.
To my dismay he he still wrote the bill for a little over $800 an hour for working only 2 hours and not providing a list of any materials he used. The only thing on the bill that resembled materials was "Chemical Cleaning".
After a few emails back and forth he responded the price was what he quoted and he does not provide a breakdown of costs and then stopped emailing me about the subject accept to pay the bill.
I feel he totally took advantage of my elderly mom and I would not recommend him to anyone.
Reading up about contractors now every site says to request a bill of materials before the job is done and to check out what he charges you isn't ridiculously inflated
