Review content:
Caniglia's is one of the better 'Old School' Italian-Style Steak Houses (see Cascio's, Angie's, Mr. C's, Johnny's, Anthony's, Piccolo Pete's). Food quality is generally very good. Decor hasn't been touched much in a long time and actually adds to the ambiance. Great Prime Rib special on Tuesday and Friday: i think it's a 10-oz. cut, soup or salad, choice of potato, side of pasta, bread and butter, glass of wine, spumoni and coffee for $13.99! It's an excellent deal!
Too bad the place is closing. The owner attributes the restaurant's failure to the inability to compete with all of the West O places and lack of patronage from non-neighborhood residents. This is unfortunate. Another long-time family run business ground beneath the strip-mall mentality.
