Review content:
In the Iowa City school district, around the age of 10 years old, students are given the opportunity to try out string instruments (sometimes at the vocal opposition of parents and siblings) to see if they in fact are ready to begin a lifelong hobby/career of music.
My son was like most of the others of that age group, initially interested in playing an instrument as well, so wondering what string instruments entailed I decided to take my questions and concerns to RECKS at the suggestion of another parent.
When I entered the store I was warmly welcomed and asked if I needed help. When I explained my mission, not only was their rental polliscy explained to me but I was also shown various instruments that my son might be interested in and the clerk patiently reminded me of the information I had originally learned in "music 101" so many years ago.
Though my eldest did not choose to play a string instrument after all I was (and am ) impressed with RECKS and all they have to offer...and since I have a younger son quickly nearing the age of "string instruments", I expect I once again will seek out RECKS for informaiton and guidance. I suggest you do the same.....they are honest, friendly and fair priced.....a "10" in this mom's book!
