Review content:
Newtown Inn used to be a fantastic restaurant. However, I went there for brunch a couple of years ago and the food was terrible. I chalked it up to a one-time experience. Until I made the dreadful mistake of going there for Thanksgiving. They were out of half the items on the menu, the green beans were completely raw, like someone had forgotten to cook them, the turkey was nowhere to be found - a couple of small chunks underneath the potatoes, and the salad was missing half its ingredients. It looked like a 10 year old had put the meal together. And they were not even busy which might have accounted for some level of inattention! Our server was also terrible - I had to keep flagging her down and asking for more water after the glass sat empty for a good 5-10 minutes and whenever we dared to complain about some aspect of the food we got a surly and defensive attitude. I would recommend avoiding this restaurant at all costs, or prepare to be disappointed! Too bad, it used to be good.
