Review content:
The staff at Newport Dental put the patient at ease while addressing the issues you have at hand. They offer convenient payment options and have Saturday hours, should something come up during your week and you can't make it in until the weekend. Services covered here are both general dentistry and orthodonture. Located at Beach and Mc Arthur off the 405.
However, I have an issue with TMJ. I had to be given relaxants to unlock my jaw for an evaluation. I was told when I went in on the first trip that I might need a specialist. When I went in on the second trip the dentist told me that I would need either a mouthpiece or surgery and that at my age a mouthpiece was recommended. Nothing more was mentioned of a specialist. The device turned out to be faulty and made my front teeth extremely sensitive. I found a specialist on my own that said in my case the mouthpiece was not going to work.
So when I said instead of an adjustment I would like a partial refund of the device, I ended up being berated by a member of staff. That she said all the time I was told I would need a specialist because they can only do so much, and that they had no specialists to refer me to- The Dentist was not even qualified to treat specialized TMJ and was only making a best guess evaluation.
My impression of this place going in was great, but then when there was a problem it flipped, and suddenly I felt like I was being treated like a number- specifically a dollar sign. The bite block they gave me cost $400... and they reacted as though I were trying to scam them when I just needed some help. - They were not qualified to help me and did it anyway, little to my knowledge.
