Review content:
I went to Dr. Wagner's Optical because I had been needing glasses and found a groupon for $50, worth $180. It said the exam would be free and $150 would be applied to the cost of glasses. I picked out a nice frame, was given a prescription for bifocals and when told the price between line and no-line lenses I chose to go with the line because of $120 difference. I was charged $485 for my glasses, AFTER $150 was taken off for the groupon. When I got home my husband looked at the receipt and questioned whether they had applied the groupon. He searched for my frames and found them at several area businesses at less than 1/2 of what I paid. The MSRP on the frames is $250, not $500! I called back and asked about the groupon. I was told it was indeed applied. When I asked if it was customary to charge double the MSRP I was told they were a small, private business and charged what they had to to make money. I told her their website said all frames were 50% off with the purchase of lenses. She said only one discount could be applied. I said "Had you given me the choice of 50% off frames or a groupon discount, I certainly would have taken the 1/2 off!" She said it was my fault for not asking for that discount. So in essence, the groupon cost me $150 instead of saving me $130 as advertised. Had I received 50% off my frames, the total would have been $360. Instead, I ended up paying $550 counting what I paid for the groupon. When I said I was going to return the frames I was told they did not allow refunds, returns or exchanges once glasses had been picked up. This is a VERY unreputable business and I recommend going to Lens Crafters, Sears, Sams or any other place you can find rather than spending double the money here!
