Review content:
There are quite a few Indian restaurants in the Salt Lake valley these days and some of them are a bit dodgey! Taj India is pretty safe. I first decided to try it because it's much more convenient to my house than my favorite Indian restaurant. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were met by a nice young woman with a bright smile. She seated us promptly but did not say one word the entire time. We were given no menus and could only assume that we were relegated to the buffet. Being a vegetarian I was a little wary of the options I might have at a buffet line, but there were a few things to choose from. The food was not spectacular. Somehow everything I chose was cold. The naan was a bit chewy from sitting out and the vegetable pakoras were slightly over-cooked. But, the chutney was absolutely perfect. Some of the best I've ever had. And the rice was very different from anything I've had before. I would like to try Taj India another time when I might order off of the menu. I think that would give me a better sense of their abilities. But I will save my next visit for a much later date. My curry cravings have not been satisfied and I think I'll have to make a trip to my favorite Indian restaurant (Royal India). It might be a longer drive, but it's well worth it. Pros: Good Rice, Speedy Service Cons: Cold Food, Poor Communication
