Expert Fireplace was called to cap a gas fireplace that I wanted to convert back to a wood burning fireplace. The technician Roger convinced me to spend significantly more to install a log ignition system to facilitate fire starting for a wood fire. Since the gas was already run to the fireplace it seemed a good idea. The system worked fine during the winter of 2009 after installation in October 2009. This home is used only on weekends and the fireplace is used only in the winter
At the start of the 2010 winter season the ignitor on/off valve would no longer stop the flow of gas. Luckily I remembered where the shut-off valve was in the crawlspace. I contacted Lisa at Expert Fireplace to have their repairman replace the faulty on/off valve and she told me too bad that the valve malfunctioned and that they do not guarantee their work.
Stay away from this company if you want them to be responsible for their work
