Fleming's, located at 720 Aliceanna St, is very hard to locate for someone not from the area. It is set back behind Roy's on the Eastern side of the round about in Harbor East in downtown Baltimore. My wife and I drove around the area for five minutes trying to find this place. However, upon arrival, the valets were excellent and expeditiously serviced our vehicle and guided us to the door. After we were escorted to Fleming's, we were cordially greeted at the entrance by the maitre'd. She informed us that we would have to wait at the door until somebody would come to seat us. My wife and I thought this was odd. After a few minutes and our patience wearing thin, the maitre'd seated us herself. The explanation was eventually provided to us, but the maitre'd was waiting on the ok to seat us from the private security team of one of the guests. I am still not sure who the VIP was, but I was told he was royalty from abroad. Despite the rough opening, Fleming's met all of our expectations. The wine list is superb. Dae Chang, the wine manager, is phenomenal and quite personable. After having a great conversation about the Zuccardi Malbec, Dae took a picture of my wife and I and then framed it and delivered it with our dessert. Our host, Mike Mizrai, was great! He was well versed on the menu and made our evening out that much more special. His prompt and courteous service was not overlooked. He ensured that our wine glass was always topped and that our food was properly prepared. It was just the service you should expect when you go out for dinner. The food was superb. Our steaks were cooked to perfection. My wife and I are very particular about the preparation of our meat and we both ordered our meat cooked in between the normal preparation standards. The kitchen was able to answer our request! My steak was prepared Medium rare plus and my wife's medium plus! For dessert we tried their Molten Chocolate Lava Cake. It was the absolute best that my wife and I have had. They serve the standard fare with two scoops of vanilla ice cream on a chocolate chip wafer. The cake itself is more molten than cake and when opened up pours out and covers your dessert plate. The pistachios that top the confectionated sugar on top of the cake are lost in the river of chocolate and make for an excellent crunchy surprise as you devour this decedent dessert. This restaurant is an absolute must! Pros: Excellent Food, Excellent Service Cons: Hidden in Harbor East
