Review content:
Career Pros was terrible! I went to them looking for some assistance in reworking and tuning my resume for a new field I was interested in entering. They were friendly and told great stories about how they could help me out. I would receive multiple revisions of my resume, interviewing assistance, videotaped interviewing sessions with personalized feedback. John spoke of how he had connections with almost every organization I was interested in. The upsells came quickly, but I decided to start small. What happened? So the resume writing service... Well first the entire office was late for my second appointment--when my brand new resume was to be revealed. While sitting in the waiting room I look over to the personal assistant who had come in and started working on his computer feverishly and notice he was retyping my resume as I was sitting there. Way to put in the effort. Needless to say it was simply reformatted with the addition of new spelling and grammatical errors. After complaining, John asked for another week to work out a few kinks and put some final polish on it. I eventually received someone else's resume with some of my experience pasted in. They didn't even bother to remove swaths of text and experience from the previous client. It wasn't even a good example resume! They stopped responding to my calls and emails. In the end I cut my losses, rewrote and reformatted my entire resume and cover letter. Never had a private interview session or any other service. All that insider contact info? Well I was given an HR name and number that I could have (and had) gotten from the company phone directory. Dropping John's name did absolutely nothing...they could have cared less. His insider company intelligence consisted of printing useless public information from the web about public disclosures of board members, shareholders, etc. Now look at the Career Pro reviews...what other local organization has this many verbose 5 star reviews. Look at the all the responses outraged by the negative reviews and how many mention personal relationships of knowledge of John and Career Pros. Weird, they've only written reviews for Career Pros. Astroturfing at its finest. I really can't think of a single shred of value I received other than perhaps hardening my scam senses. Stay clear...
