When I am not at the Wild Side West down the street, for a totally different vibe, I go to Vino Rosso. It's great in the sense that the owners make you feel totally welcome and spend a lot of time with you finding out your preferences, etc. before making a wine recommendation. Also, what's interesting is that, I am child-free but this place is super child friendly. The owners usually have their baby hanging out in the back and encourage the mostly neighborhood crowd to bring their own babies. Sounds wierd but it's actually pretty cool. Just like Bernal! Oh, and you can also buy any wine you imbibe to go (which is a good way to save some $$$ once you've found what you like!) Pros: Nice to have Italian wines represented - not the typical Cal-only Cons: It's small so it is sometimes hard to find a seat
