Review content:
New Brookland Tavern has become quite the mecca for upcoming bands in the Southeast. If you are in to new music and love to see these new bands live you should subscribe to their email or visit the website for updated listings. Many great bands come and go but because they don't advertise well you may miss it unless you are looking. It is quickly becoming the "number one place to miss your favorite band" because they can't figure out how to advertise beyond the flyers that no one seems to read.
They have a talent for booking bands but the atmosphere and staff is an indicator that is all they can do well.
The club's air conditioning can't compete on very busy nights and a window unit is over the bar. The bar was sticky and under stocked. The staff looks shabby but they are nice. The drinks are affordable but be prepared for them to run out of water during big shows that are all ages. They offered to refill my bottle with tap.
They have pool tables but those should probably be moved to a different area since their reputation is for live music. The atmosphere is very shabby as many of the great music halls so I wouldn't change a thing.
Parking is across the street in a dirt lot.
Pros: Great bands!
Cons: Not enough A/C and not known for the food.
