Review content:
Our food could not have been better, each dish (there were 3 of us) succulent in its' own right, wonderful interpretations that absolutely stood up and sang. Jealousy began to creep into our thought train as we tried to discern how we could achieve such artistry. The overall experience was marred somewhat by the noise level; tolerable, yet quite fixable. However, the absolute killer was the service, but ONLY by the lead waitress. Support staff couldn't have been more attentive. From being rushed to place our order (even given that a senior was obviously in the throes of deliberation, and quite frankly mystifying, as the waitress was a contemporary, age-wise), to forgetting about several simple requests several times over, to asking (as if she needed to) and then promising fresh pepper and grated cheese for salads, but completely forgetting because she was more interested standing around and obsequiously attending to a 12/18 top, among several other larger check and thus tip-producing tables. Our entree was delivered seconds after we gave up awaiting said 'fresh ground pepper'. However, the food more than smoothed over this growing irritant, and was sensational. Overall, we will give this restaurant another try ... some day. BUT should Ms.-Insincere-but-sizing-you-up-for-tip-potential-before-taking-your-order is working the shift, we'll pass, thank you very much. Oh, by the way, if you have surmised that we're in the business and would normally be more than understanding, you would be right. But this was not one of those times -- no customer deserves to be marginalised, especially when it is only up until it comes time to collect compensation. Go for the fabulous food, but don't expect much else ... unless you project as a big tip.
