I like that the fancy computerized equipment can accurately read my eyes, but I do not like that the techs insisted on taking too many repeated retina-map images to get enough of sufficient quality. I cooperated, letting them wiggle my head this way and that, obediently opening my eyes wide--and after the sixth image I felt reluctant to put up with more. By that point there were three techs, all focused on satisfying the computer with images; none of them inquired about my reluctance, or suggested that perhaps a doctor could decide if more images were needed. "Getting the images" seemed a higher priority than "is the client comfortable?" While this might have been in order if I had a prior condition of concern, I think in this case (a routine checkup) they were overzealous about serving the machine. I had a bad headache by the end of the exam.
