Review content:
Siam Cafe is on a little street off of Nolensville Road; it doesn't look like much from the road. To be honest, it doesn't look like much inside either. But it's clean, the servers are friendly, and most importantly the food is great.
I love the Tom Ka Kai soup; it's got a coconut-milk base and a lemongrass-lime leaf tang that's wonderful. I also love the way they prepare chicken in Thai cuisine; it is pounded out thin so that the spices seep into the meat. I can't remember the name of my favorite entree, but it's thin slices of chicken in a hot, spicy sauce served over shredded lettuce with rice on the side. The lettuce soaks up the extra sauce and is delicious all by itself. They serve several condiments that you can use to make the dish spicier and crushed peanuts that you can sprinkle over the chicken for a nice crunch.
The restaurant is oddly divided in half; if you sit in the front section, you can eat from the buffet area. The back half of the restaurant is for customers who want to order off the menu, and this is the only option I've tried so far.
