The absolute worst dental office I've ever been to. Besides the expensive and uncovered "deep cleaning" scam others have mentioned, in my case Sutherland said I needed 3 crowns ($1000 each) and although I was not in any pain then (though later I would be) he also said I needed two root canals at $1275! Plus a $60 "consult" with an endodontist was an added bogus charge, there was no consultation, and was not covered by insurance. BTW, Sutherland does not give you crowns-- he does what he calls "ceramic restorations" which your insurance will *not* cover at the same rate as regular crowns. In fact, after I filed a complaint, my insurance reviewed the X-rays and determined one of the 3 teeth Sutherland crowned "was not medically necessary as there was no evidence of trauma or decay." The final insult was that their account people, Betty and Anna, incompetents both, OVERCHARGED me $422 (confirmed by my insurance company), denied it, and are giving me a runaround in my attempts to get the refund that is due to me. No one will take any responsibility and in fact are completely obnoxious and unhelpful.
Consider yourself warned, and be aware that Sutherland runs multiple offices in the South bay. Do a google search--All these one star ratings on the net are on there for good reasons, so beware! And I suspect these 5 star reviews were written by TDA staff or one of those companys paid to write good reviews, so don't be fooled .
