Okay, this is a little nuts. I never thought I'd be writing a review of a DMV, let alone a positive review of a DMV. But my experience was such that I had to share. I went in today, the Monday morning before Christmas, to get replacement registration information for my car. The mall that the DMV is in looks like it was built in the 70's and never left that era - everything's kind of rundown and lit by bleak fluorescent lights. The DMV itself is on the 1st floor, with a huge sign that you can't miss. 10 minutes before opening, there was already a line of 10 people waiting outside the DMV. After getting to the info desk, the woman politely greeted me and gave me the forms I needed to fill out. I filled them out, went back to the info desk, and got a number. At this point, there were already something like 15 people ahead of me, so I figured I would be in for a wait. A mere 5 minutes later, my number came up, and I was at desk #3 where a worker greeted me politely, helped me with my issue in a patient and efficient manner, and then wished me a happy holidays when all was done. Maybe my expectations are low, but I was stunned at how friendly and quick everyone was. Whatever they're doing there, they're doing it right. Thank you, White Plains DMV! Pros: courteous, fast service Cons: was I in an alternative universe?
