I've used hourly plumbers before and it's always stressful not knowing for sure till the job is done what it's going to cost. They give you an estimate, but I've had that change after the fact. So when I called Pat's Plumbing and they told me they give me the price up front, I was willing to try something new.
I had an old kitchen faucet that dripped constantly. They came out and gave me a price to repair the faucet or a price to replace it. They even gave me a price to put in a faucet that I picked out if I didn't like what they had right there. It was a bit more than I expected, but I had them repair the faucet because it seemed reasonable. The final bill was exactly what he said it would be and there were no hard, high pressure sales tactics.
I'm a woman and I work in a tech field so I'm used to people who don't know me talking down to me. This plumber didn't do that. He used every day language without any crazy jargon and didn't assume I didn't understand what a faucet cartridge was.
I was happy with the service and the cost was more than worth the piece of mind. They have a really good warranty too - 2 years if you join their member thing. I'm going to have them replace the faucet eventually. I would definitely recommend them to my friends.
