I have been a fan of SLUGGERS for years. I have always enjoyed the food at SLUGGERS, especially the "cheesy fries" but I must admit that there is little that SLUGGERS has served in the past 10 years that I haven't enjoyed!
SLUGGERS is, as you can probably tell from the title, a sports theme bar and when you enter you are immediately assailed by TV's in every corner of the restaurant and anywhere else they can place them as well. Depending upon whether it is a day the Iowa Hawks are playing or not, you will be treated to sports of all sorts on the screens.
The food is fantastic, large portions, reasonable prices and quick, personable service! This place in fact is so good at their customer service that it used to be the only place we could take my oldest when he was younger because he had no patience for slow service. Here they had the food on the table so quickly that he didn't have time to complain.
Except on game days, seating at this place is pretty loose and easy to obtain but on game days....well, let's just say it is a popular place and you'd better stake your claim early to get a good seat for the game.
The next time you are in Coralville, head west on "the Coralville strip" and directly on your right will be SLUGGERS....stop on in and try this place....I promise you won't be sorry.... GO HAWKS!
