What a horrible experience.
Red Flag #1
I decided to co-sleep with my baby. This office is completely against it. I was chastised every time I was asked if my baby was sleeping in a crib. One doctor even suggested that I let my six week old baby cry it out for at least 45 minutes. This was supposed to send my baby a message that I was in charge!
Red Flag # 2
Everyone knows that Breast milk is the best milk. Pediatrician continued to advise that breastfeeding your child gets "old" after a while and to start supplementing with formula. One would expect support and encouragement from a pediatrician to continue to breastfeed for as long as long as possible.
Red flag # 3
I was concerned with the amount of vaccinations given to my 2 month old in a session. My baby received 4 shots(7 different vaccinations) in a day. When I voiced my concern and asked if it could be spread out, the pediatrician was concerned about screwing up the paperwork and refused! I could not believe it! My baby's next round of shots, I flat out refuse to allow them to give my baby 4 shots in one sitting and my husband and I were treated horribly from that point on. Also, since my baby was not in daycare, I asked why the Roto virus vaccination was necessary when a) other pediatricians stopped administering this as far back as 2006 because of concerns and b) my baby was not in daycare. I was told that if I did not allow them to administer the Roto virus, I would have to find another Pediatrician. Which I did!
PHA is very corporate and their priority is their bottom line. I have found now found a Pediatrician who is very accommodating to my baby's needs.
