I live up the street from Joe's. While I can absolutely appreciate someone's one-off (or twice) bad experience, I've got to say it consistently satisfies my taste. The food is good AND healthy. They don't use lard. The prawn tacos are stupendous. Occassionally there is a mishap, but they are always willing to right a wrong. It's a very casual place to chow down. Kids are very welcome (albeit badly behaved at times, but I blame lax parents not Joe's employees.) If you're a lover of heat, the house snake sauce is a delight. It is what is presents itself as: mellow, healthy, inexpensive, welcoming, unpretentious. Which is more refreshing than the agua fresca!
