I've been shopping at Cafe Rouge's butcher shop for a couple of years. It's the only place I know in the area where you can buy freshly made duck confit, foie gras, etc., many of which they make themselves.
I've been so impressed with the butcher shop that I've wanted to try their cooking, but somehow never managed to.
I finally got a chance to have lunch there, and had an excellent fish, perfectly prepared, with well seasoned vegetables. I was very content (and that's not easy to do).
I also found the service to be attentive and friendly. I don't understand the experience of other users here, but perhaps there's one bad waiter who people keep running into. This was for lunch, so perhaps they're more relaxed? I don't know, but do try Cafe Rouge, at least for lunch. Or just check out their butcher shop.
