Review content:
Ago proves that sometimes, the simplest flavors are what make an excellent meal.
Barely noticeable, I missed it twice, Ago sits on the corner of La Cienga and Melrose.
The menu is composed of typical Italian fare. The antipastas and soups are nothing out of the ordinary either. However, this is where Ago shines. I had the grilled polenta and burrata (fresh mozzarella with a creamy center) for an appetizer, spinach and ricotta ravioli as a pasta, and the veal chop with balsamic vinegar sauce.
Every entre proved that even stripping down a dish to the basics, without any fancy or complicated sauces, is a welcomed event. In partiuclar, the pasta was very fresh tasting and the veal chop was the most tender cut I've ever had.
I also want to mention the light and airy ricotta cheese cake for dessert- be sure to save room for it.
Pros: Pasta, Prices, Ricotta Cheese Cake
