Businiess name:  Lisa's Safari Salon & Spa

Review content:
Background: My wife and I recently moved to Cookeville and it would be an hour drive for her to go to her previous stylist. Lisa’s salon was recommended to her through a friend at the gym and since my wife is quite particular about her hair, she trusted the positive words about the salon and made an appointment The Haircut: Her appointment was on a Saturday with the only stylist working that day. The haircut was interrupted several times for the stylist (let’s call her C.G.) to fix her cell phone so her grandchild could play games on it, not the most professional behavior. After the hour and twenty minute appointment, my wife arrived home frustrated and with her hair pulled back because “it looks weird”. The Problem: She was unable to tell how her hair was cut at the salon due to the way the hair was styled, but the salon is aptly named “Safari Salon” because my wife’s hair indeed looks as though it was cut by a poorly trained Orangutan with a tremor. While she asked for “layers” you can clearly see that there is hair of different lengths all over with complete disregard for order or symmetry; needless to say, she was quite upset and has to pull her hair back for work until she gets it fixed. The Altercation: Since my wife works 40 hours a week and I am on summer break for medical school, my wife asked me to stop by Lisa’s Safari Salon and speak with the owner and C.G. about the substandard quality of work and unprofessional behavior exhibited at “The Safari” and ask for a refund. After waiting 25 minutes to speak with Lisa, she told me to “make it quick, ‘cause I’m busy”. I explained the problem and was told to wait for C.G. to come back for her break. Upon her return, I politely asked C.G. to speak with her regarding a past appointment and explained the problem (complete with pictures of her hair after being styled). I was met with a loud, defensive, and hostile response from C.G. and Lisa regarding the quality of the work and the professionalism exhibited during the appointment. Further, I was told “a good haircut takes 45 minutes”, so I suppose a bad haircut takes longer. After Lisa suggested the haircut lasted less than the hour and twenty minutes and insinuated my wife used the extra time to cheat on me, I questioned her professionalism and calmly explained that all I wanted is a refund and I was not there to cause trouble. Lisa then told me sternly “get your money and get out” while pointing to the door. While we did receive a refund for the botched haircut, I was met with unwarranted hostility from two argumentative and unprofessional women when there was no need for any altercation to take place. I am holding this business responsible for the actions of its owner and employee and just want others to know what to expect if you are not pleased with the service at Lisa’s Safari
