Review content:
The lofts themselves are nice and still like new: the high ceilings offer a spacious feeling. The materials and finishings are a bit on the cheap side but as long as they are new it doesn't really matter. The so-called "hardwood floors" are obviously laminate. The neighborhood is very shady but it is slowly improving.
The big issue we are experiencing is the noise: we are lucky enough to have quiet neighbors because the walls are extremely thin: many have moved out because of this. It is unfortunate, however, that our top floor unit is extremely noisy because of the air conditioning units right above it.
It started as a hum when we first moved in May, it grew into a very loud noise, with the ceiling, walls and floor all vibrating: our countertops vibrate, the sofa vibrates, the kitchen cabinets vibrate loudly, as does everything else. Management is ignoring us, of course: what I mean by that is that none of our emails have even been acknowledged. We had to move our mattress to the living room where the vibration is less intense than in the bedroom.
Word of advice: stay away from unit 3604. The problem is probably also as bad in unit 3602. All top floor apartments, especially those facing Henry Street, are at risk of being incredibly loud because of the AC units on the roof.
