Kitty Cottage is a no-kill animal shelter which will keep a cat its entire natural life if it is not adopted. Visitors are encouraged to visit with the cats in an almost completely open (virtually no cages) three-story house which serves as home for between 50 and 60 cats. Because it is a no-kill shelter, there is not a rush to have people adopt cats, but rather they are encouraged to find one that they feel matches their own personality and needs. Potential adopters are encouraged to fill out an application which asks basic questions about their experience with cats as well as character references and a reference (if prior cat owner) from a veterinarian. The staff are friendly and helpful to anyone who genuinely wants to give a cat a loving permanent home.
