Review content:
My mother and I decided to go here for my birthday dinner. We didn't have a reservation, but on a Thursday night we got a table immediately. I mentioned to the hostess that I have a gluten allergy, and she gave me a gluten free menu. I ordered the New Zealand lamb chops medium rare, and they were great. I have had lamb before, so I'm able to compare and the chef definitely did an above average job here. My mother ordered the lite filet mignon (6oz) and said it was cooked perfectly. I also ordered a side of sauteed spinach, which was pretty good. I did find a rubber band in my food (one of the purple ones used for food) but decided not to complain and set in on my plate; accidents happen. However, after our server took our plates, he came back and mentioned the rubber band, and told us that the ~$40 lamb chops were now on the house. That certainly makes up for a small mistake in the kitchen! Before he brought the check, he gave me a card and a box of four amazing chocolate truffles from the restaurant as a birthday gift. The restaurant and our server did an admirable job of catering to my food allergy, and I recommend Fleming's to anyone sensitive to gluten, or just looking for a good meal. I'd say the prices, while certainly high, are just about justified.
