Review content:
I had my shipment in storage at Bekins (agent Hansen Brothers in Newcastle). I scheduled my property to be delivered to me here in Laurel, MS. I contacted John Burlingame, the sales rep, to see when they can get my property delivered to me. John never contacted me any time to let me know the particulars on the movement; I did all the contacting. John told me that it would cost me $1500.00 for the transportation cost and $200.00 to have a crew watch them download my property out of storage, repacked and shipped. I was told that this was necessary. When my property arrived, you can imagine how surprised I was to find that the property was shipped in the boxes that I packed them in. On March 24, 2008, John Burlingame called me (only the 2nd call he ever placed to me). He stated that the $1700.00 paid for everything. Then I started thinking, if he didn't use the $200.00 for the crew, I was entitled to the difference back - $200.00 minus the Feb & prorated Mar storage rental = $142.00 + 75.72 (the amount that I had paid to catch up my storage). I contacted the accounts receivable department and spoke to Wayne. Wayne told me that he would have to get with John Burlingame and get the details before they can issue any thing and he would call me back. That was 2 1/2 weeks ago (mind you, Wayne said that he called me but didn't get to leave a message). By this time, I was and am out of patience and ticked off. Today, April 17, 2008, I called to ask to speak to Wayne's boss, Dave Cohen(?). Dave must have relayed the message to Wayne because Wayne called me back. I was angry and told Wayne to put me on speaker phone and get me John Burlingame and Dave Cohen. Wayne only got John. John fed me this story about all these "other" charges that had to be paid for and basically went out of his way and eliminated these other costs for me when he should have told me up front what it will cost. Now it looks like a scam to me. MOVER BEWARE. Pros: SHIPMENT ARRIVED IN TIMELY FASHION Cons: NOT TRUTHFUL ABOUT ALL ASSOCIATED COSTS AND WANTS TO KEEP MONEY
