Review content:
Womrath's has been around for quite some time, at least as long as I've been in Tenafly (about 12 years). In a town where the turnover for stores is extremely high, Womrath's has stuck around.
It is a quaint little store that departs from the huge chain stores. It has quite a big selection although obviously it does not compare to the larger stores.
The sales staff is very friendly and always willing to help. This is one aspect that this small store has an advantage over it's larger competitors. The sales staff is knowledgable and is willing to help you find a book, whether you know what you're looking for or not.
Obviously, there are advantages and disadvantages to shopping at a smaller, local store versus the larger chain stores. If you need a present or are looking for a specific book, it is worth trying Womrath's if you live close by instead of driving 10 or 15 miles to a chain store, especially given the price of gas nowadays.
You might pay a premium for some books, given that places like Barnes & Noble often offer a 30% discount on new titles, but you have to weigh this against the convenience factor and travel time and cost.
Overall, Womrath's is a good local store that is worth checking out and shouldn't be dismissed.
