Front desk area and staff was complete chaos. When I arrived it took a while to get my appt and papers in order but leaving was worse. I must have stood there 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged me. I have NEVER been ANYWHERE for a massage that was not a quiet, relaxing environment. It is obvious that massage services was an afterthought at this "spa". Massage room shared a wall with the bathroom so you could hear the toilet paper roll and the toilet flush everytime someone was in there. Room was tiny and entire place was tile. Not only does that make it cold but every noise is echoed, whether the door is closed or not. Directly outside of the "massage room", which was probably a closet at some point, was the pedicure stations. Lucky me, I got to hear about 8 people having conversations the whole time along with the footsteps of anyone walking around. I have never heard of a place that gives massages in anything louder than silence. It wasn't just that there was some noise, it was actually loud. I seriously thought it was a joke, like I was on some tv show. When making your appt they should at least warn you that massages are not in a quiet environment, then let you decide if that is ok with you. I thought I was going in for a nice, relaxing massage and instead was more tense and irritated when I walked out the door. The massage itself wasn't even good. Her technique was different (not better) than anything I've ever experienced, and I've had plenty of massages. The worst part was that she rubbed the massage oil on my face!!!! Usually if they massage your head and face it gets done first and then they use the oil on your body. So not only was I disctracted by all the noise but for the whole massage I kept thinking, I need to get home to wash my face! My skin breaks out with oil free lotion let alone oil. To sum it all up- the massage was awful and the atmosphere even worse. I really and truly would never recommend this establishment for any kind of relaxing service. For a hair cut or manicure... maybe, for a massage...never. I can't possible be the first to feel this way, I am not a picky person.
