Review content:
The only good part about this meal was the wine. Walking in we were approached by rubber mats, an open closet full of bleach and a gumball machine, - shouldve taken this as a sign but alas we were hungry and sat down, Our waiter who was high as a kite was ridiculous but at least pleasant. The wine was the ONLY good part of this meal. I dont know if the people reviewing this place think Applebees is amazing food, because this was on the same level except i like Applebees BETTER! My mother and I had $15 calamari ceasar salads. It was the WIMPIEST salad I have ever seen in my life. the lettuce as old and lifeless, the calamari rubbery and stale (we were worried about food poisoning) and a tiny dust of cheap powdery parmeasan (NOT EVEN GRATED) and a few mushy chickpeas. The dressing was congealed and gross and we were starving but couldnt even eat these salads. My bf had shortribs that he barely touched and i wont even tell u what the presentation looked like, and my dad had the famous 'eggplant rotini' which the waiter said was a recipe that 'went back generations' and later said he was KIDDING! Great, thanks for the reccomendation. At least he was kidding bc this pathetic dish needs a LOT of work- generations of work if you ask us! The ambience ONLY outside was fine but the inside looked like a rundown diner. The menus were plastic and dirty and everything was a massive dissapointment. Coming from NY I have a pretty high standard in dining but I dont need it to be fancy- just TASTY. which none of this was.
SAVE YOUR CRAVINGS for elsewhere- the Standard Diner is even a major upgrade!
