About ten parking spots, ecclectic decor, scones and cream/marionberry jam are good. But...service is horrible. Take your money somewhere else.
This is the fourth time I have been to Sweet Divas: once with a good friend about five years ago for the friendship tea (a good experience as I remember it), the second with about ten of my dearest friends for my bridal shower two years ago (when I first noticed the less-than-desirable service), once with my mother last Christmas (when I really noticed the service), and then today, when I determined to never go back.
I agree with another reviewer who wondered if perhaps the reason she and her friend didn't recieve good service was the fact that they are "colored." As much as I abhor the thought, I think I may have to agree, though we live in the most cosmopolitan city in the world and one would think race wouldn't matter when it comes to service.
My aunt is vegan, and since they didn't have anything on the menu that suited, I ordered tea and scones for each of us. After our order was taken, the owner came out and told us (in front of a roomful of other guests) that "for future reference" they didn't take reservations for folks just getting tea and scones on a Saturday, which was their busiest day of the week. A half of the bistro was empty, including the table directly behind us. I feel that there are only two reasons to be so publicly unhospitable if your business is half-empty: you either don't want particular people in your shop, or you really don't need the business. I spoke to the owner in the back, doing her the courtesy of speaking to her privately instead of embarrasing her in front of her customers. We will definately not be going back
Pros: scones, but definately not worth putting up with the service
Cons: disrespectful service that no one of any race of creed should have to put up with
