Review content:
The first thing I noticed when I got into the place was its dim lit and cozy atmosphere, accompanied by a grand piano sitting right up on the stage. It seemed to be straight out of the 1920's. The very retro decor was very comfortable and exciting.
Each comedian that performed was funnier than the next. The show was quite long, a total of about 3-4 hours, after which my face and stomach hurt from laughing so hard. However, the comedians did tend to pick on people a lot, regardless of where it is they sat. If you get offended easily, then it is quite possible that Dangerfield's is not for you.
The only reason that I would not give Dangerfield's 5 stars would be due to the fact that that although you leave with a belly full of laughter, you leave with an empty wallet. The two drink minimum is pretty standard for a lot of New York comedy clubs. What was not standard, however, were the two $14 watered down coca-colas. Nevertheless, the staff was quite nice and even offered to take a fourth off of the bill for the inconvenience. Despite the over priced drinks, I have never laughed so hard at any other comedy club in my life.
