Businiess name:  Morton's The Steakhouse

Review content:
I don't eat a lot of meat, but when I do it always had to be Morton's. I've been to many and always loved thier NY strip - melts in your mouth. This is definitely a special occasion place (that's where my husband proposed to me). Anyway, having said that, I must tell you how disappointed I was when I went there recently. The place had a diffrent vibe - not in a good way. Any restaurant's first impression is made by the hostess (good or bad). Well, our hostess was too busy chit chatting with other co-workers, too busy to acknowledge us for the first five minutes. Then, we were given a tiny table right next to a booth - it felt like a double date, since I could hear every single word the other couple was saying. When I complained that we made reservations for a special occasion and requested a booth, we were abruptly told that they were reserved (at that time they were all empty). At my husband's request to make the best of our situation, I ordered what I always ordered, but the waiter suggested a different way of cooking the meat. Needless to say, I ended up with a piece of meat that looked and tasted like a shoe sole. I was so shocked that my favorite place was now on my list of places to avoid. The management never once tried to accomodate us in any way. Bad service and bad taating food should be unacceptable in a place such as this - that charges everythig a la carte.
