Review content:
Since my first dining experience at Terrace Cafe about a year ago, I have been a fan. I have taken numerous friends, colleagues and recommended this to countless people as a golden gem.
I am hooked on the Shrimp and Grits (New Orleans style). The breakfast fare is fantastic, but the only item I see is Shrimp and Grits. Its always piping hot, creamy, zesty and the perfect blend of taste, nutrition (ha!) and gastronomical satisfaction.
While all Service staff are not created equal, I have never received bad service. Some may be slower to respond or less attention to detail, but there is much more to service than the obvious. I appreciate a warm smile, an accomodating atitude and a smooth upsell. Afterall, that's the food industry. Hospitaltiy at its best is when you get that dessert or extra item not originally on your mind and as you say yes, your're wondering how your mind went against you.
On a business level, I needed to book our salon holiday celebration. We had procrastinated (hello! economy?) and was one week shy of our decided date. One call and Michael was on it. He was pleasant, willing to work with our moderate budget and even made suggestions to make us feel special (like placing us on the inside veranda, exclusively). My demands were the usual, alot for what I was working with. When I arrived, the table was set. Oh, I forgot, he even created personal menus with our logo to personalize the event. I consider Mike a true hospitality professional.
Dean was our Server and he greeted and catered to each guest. The Coconut Crab Cakes were golden brown and a perfect serving portion with the blend of spices and condiments to make this dish a perfect selection. The salmon portions were huge and each plate perfectly laid in presentation. I'm not only a fan anymore, I'm a customer with praise.
If you are looking for a place to dine (albeit breakfast, lunch or dinner), Terrace Cafe is the new gem of Charlotte. It's debut one year ago has not lost its momentum. Don't let the name fool you. They serve serious food. Better than some of the so-called finer restaurants in Charlotte.
Don't walk - run to Terrace Cafe for a fabulous dining experience. Parking is complimentary-need I saw more?
