2/11/11 been going to service at this dealer for many years now and scene there ups and downs, downs meaning now looking like ther going to close down completly. well threw the years i have been listing to a person there in service telling me i need to do this and i need to do that on my yukon truck. one day i was stuck on the other side of town and went to henderson gmc dealer desert and while they were fixing my vehicle i was talking with the service person there and was telling them how i was suprised my vehicel broke down and why i was suprised is cause i have done just about every service there is to do and the person told me my vehicle was great cause i was doing them. well while i was telling this person what i did service wise he was replying to me was did i do those repairs. well i told him the lady a centennial gmc told me these services were over due and really needed to be done. me being a person who doesnt know anything about cars okeyed the service cause i didnt want any issue in the future. well he asked me what did i do, told him a transmisson service which was $275 last month, he replyed to me your vehicle is 3 years 2 month old with 38,000 miles on it you dont do a trans service till 100,000 miles our 6 years which ever comes first. i also told him i did the coolant at the same time for $125.00. the person than told me that the yukon comes with a coolant called dexacool and you dont service that till 100,000 also. well at this point i was starting to get upset but was still trying to undstand why she would sell me this things if they are not needed. i asked is it cause we live in the desert and its really hot that she told me to buy these things well he replyed back that that was a bull@@@@ lie that most of the bad service writers would use. and if any service writer today was using they are telling you a lie. there is no such thing and the desert climate needing to service your vehicle early, he said maybe at the most 10,000 early but for shore not 50,000 to 60,000 miles early. i also told him how my brakes were done and some other services they did and he basically felt i got took by centennial gmc and buick. and that all that stuff was not needed now and it would be long time in the future till i needed it. i paid $580.00 for brakes front and rear at 32,000 miles. i came in for an oil change and the women said i needed to replace them asap our i would have to buy disc at another $600.00 in cost. the guy at desert said the brakes on a yukon will last at the least 50,000 miles and that was the least. he felt there was no way at 32,000 miles i would need brakes replaced. he said the normal time for brakes is around 70,000 miles. all in all its my fault for just listing and trusting this person there at centennial gmc, i should have done my home work on it first. my lose of money and its there lose of a customer. 5/8/11 i went to the general manager regarding my issue with the above statement about how i feel i got took. also told him how i left over 5 messages and 6 emails on his service managers phone and computer with what my issue is and he never once called our returned my email back. me and this person talked for about an hour and i explained to him my issues with what they did there by lieing to me and taking advantage of a good customer. 5/8/11 the general manager called me today and agreed to refund me my money on all the service work but not the brakes. he said he can understand why i was upset about finding out why someone lied and sold me service that are not due for a long time from that point but the brakes he cant see the old parts so cant tell if they really needed them are not. but i am thankful for a manager that understand and took care of business but i wonder how many other people have been lied to by centennial gmc. and lost out on money cause of them.
