Before we bought our house, RaData in Flanders NJ replaced our sump pump that had a 30' hose that went toward the street with their own with improper installation and standards. Today, the owner David Grammer, was insulting to me after I drew them a professional looking diagram of the problem and how I want it fixed, he called it a silly drawing to me over the phone and said the whole office had a good laugh when passed around. Who would say that to their customer? He believes a 20 inch pipe coming out of our foundation sloped upward and pointing at your neighbors house is standard. In the past, we had them install a drainger that never connected to the channel around the floating basement that I didn't want. It also stood up 1/4" out of the cement floor and he charged my wife $80. To fix this, I asked them to come out modify their "not so floating slab basement friendly" sealed lid that let no water in the sump from above & install a drainger and take out the old drainger. A new man nailed 2 Pine 2x4's to hold a piece of plywood with a drainger in it. The Pine was touching the concrete walls. Pine rots when exposed to water and moisture. They charged me $390 for a crappy job. The Manger, John Cowell had to come out & fix his mistake. He gave me a hard time about fixing or taking out the $80 drainger that was sticking out of the floor. He chiseled it with his power tool to make it lower and had an attitude by saying, happy now? A year later we have a issue during hurricane Irene. When the pump was installed before we bought the house, it was never tested with water to see if there were any issues to come. It had not run all year too because of no water. The water pumped out OK, but the pipe going out of the house is sloped upward where the water is staying in the pipe exposed to the elements outside. Water was leaking in the basement from the gasket on that pipe & that is how I noticed it. They charge for their mistakes, so say away because they make lots of them. Plus they don't clean up after themselves.
