Review content:
I went to Antoinette Day Spa & Salon to get my nails done for my cousin's wedding. My cousin gave my mother and I each a $15 gift certificate to use towards our manicures. I decided to get a manicure and pedicure and so did my mom. The most enjoyable part of the experience was relaxing before our manicures. We got to sit in a pretty room and drink tea until they were ready for us. I recommend going early to enjoy it.
We got our nails done in the same room. The woman who helped me was not rude, but not very friendly. I could tell she did a rushed job. She barely talked to me although I must admit I am sort of shy so I was not initiating too much conversation. My mom decided to get a french manicure and to my surprise they gave her a light pink and white one. Apparently her manicurist had asked her which one she preferred. My manicurist did not and I wasn't that happy with the quality of my "normal" french manicure. The pedicure also seemed rushed and my feet did not look that much better after the pedicure.
I could not believe how much a manicure and pedicure cost at this spa! Ever since then I keep going back to my local nail salon and although it is not fancy, they do a great job and the nails and color last for a long time.
About 5 days after my manicure, I noticed that my nail color started to turn yellow! My nails looked awful and they were starting to come off. I called the salon and they offered me a free nail color change. I told them that I was not pleased with my first manicure and I did not want another. They offered me a gift certificate for the cost of a nail change and I later used it towards a hair cut and style (much better experience). I believe they should have reimbursed me for the entire manicure since the nails were falling off, but I thought that the gift certificate was a decent gesture.
