Review content:
Book lovers will adore Smith Family Bookstore! This place is packed with thousands of used and new offerings, and I always check here before buying new.
Located at 768 East 13th, the campus store is packed floor to ceiling. They advertise more than 500,000 books -- and more. Cards, books-on-tape, photographs and some specialty items can be found.
The staff is happy to help you locate items, and they do accept special orders or take phone inquiries. Most of all -- they pay cash for most books in good condition. This is a really great way to clear out books you no longer need, and a source for everything from text books to collectibles.
Parking at the campus location is often difficult, and be cautious of the parking area behind and below the shop. You may want to pay to park at the hospital structure down the street, and spend some extra time checking out Emerald City Comics, which is right next door. There is also a second Smith Family location at 525 Willamette (downtown, across the street from the Post Office.) The Lane Transit bus route to UofO will pass the campus store, so consider taking that ride!
New books are most often 10% off, and there are often specials on local/regional releases. Used books are generally discount priced -- I often find newer releases in excellent condition for 25% or more of the cover pricing.
