My college roommate and I leased our first apartment from FitzGerald properties in Foggy Bottom a few years ago, and it was quite possibly the worst managed apartment I've ever lived in.
In addition to blatantly ignoring conditions of our lease, FitzGerald's staff would yell at us on the phone when we called, not return our phone calls or emails, and would flat out lie to our faces (the only time they told the truth was when confronted with email evidence that they were lying).
One time we had a severe gas leak in our apartment that caused both my roommate and I to get violently ill. FitzGerald refused to do anything about it, so we had to call the gas company and have them turn the gas off. They were appalled that our landlord hadn't done anything.
This company owns property all over the metro area - please do not do business with them. They are the most unprofessional people and will cause you nothing but headaches during your entire lease.
