We were taking bids to have an old chain link fence replaced with cedar privacy fence.
Found Dennis Rampersaud and Dominion Fences & Decks through Angie's List and gave him a ring for an estimate. After we met, we researched him and his company rather extensively and were impressed with his website.
Despite all negativism said about him out there in the
cyberspace, we hired Dennis for the job.
Dennis gave us competitive price, listened to what we needed and completed what he started in the time frame: built 6-foot fence with 3-hinged gate in the back, two more gates on both sides of the house; additionally I asked him to build a fence between our neighbors' and our back yard because I liked it so much; replaced some damaged and rotten boards on our tool shed and installed a new steel door.
Needless to say, I am very picky: on several occasions I requested some of the pickets from the fence to come out and replaced with better ones; Dennis personally removed one of the hinges and put it back on because I did not like how the bolts were placed.
Dennis was very patient and tolerant to my suggestions and critics; never said 'no' except when I asked if he wanted any down payment. He purchased all the materials including the steel door, brought it to my house, installed, and got paid at the end.
We worked everything out, from start to finish, with mutual trust and I can honestly say that I gained a friend.
