I went in last month for three problems with my skin. They removed a spot from my leg, then I asked that they take care of two other small problems. They charged me a $20 extra fee for these last two small problems as they were considered cosmetic.
The nurse spent about 3 or 4 minutes total on this.
I feel that being a dermatologist you are going to be asked to do some strictly cosmetic work.
I was already paying a large co-pay to see a specialist and my insurance company pays even more. It seems greedy to tag an extra fee onto an appointment. Maybe if someone wanted multiple problems looked at, but not for four more minutes of your time.
