If you love movies, and the typical movie-going crowds really annoy you with their late-coming, candy wrapper-rattling, talking back to the screen, cell phone-ringing behavior, then try the ArcLight. I will no longer go anywhere else in LA to see a movie (except art theatres). Latecomers are barred from entering the movie after it has started, ushers stay in the theater for a few minutes after the movie starts to check the sound and picture quality and to make sure the crowd doesn't get rowdy, there's a strict policy on not allowing children to R-rated performances, you get super comfortable assigned seats. The employees are actually intelligent movie-lovers themselves (not bored 16 year olds goofing off while making minimum wage) The bathrooms are always immaculate, the concessions are reasonably priced, there are 4 hours of free parking, and Amoeba is right next door. It is SO worth the 14 dollars. Pros: well-behaved crowds, great employees, awesome sound
