As is the case with the whole Beale st. music scene...most of the bars (with the exception of the New Daisy) feature the same "house" bands night after night. At one time, you could go to Beale and catch several national recording acts on any given night. But now? Pathetic. Locals who are in the know regard Beale with a certain loathing because we feel they have compromised the abundent talent touring. If you come to Memphis, your best bet is the Gibson Guitar, New Daisy, Cooper-Young Deli, Map Room, Blue Monkey or the Hi-Tone. Cheers.
