Review content:
I was referred to Dr. Amy from acupuncture for chronic occipital headaches and neck and shoulder pain. Like many people, I spend my days sitting at a desk in front of a computer for long stretches of time. As a result, I've developed the bowling ball syndrome - that is, I feel that my head is a bowling ball that I'm trying to carry with my neck. This in turn causes headaches and stress and tension in my neck and shoulders. Massages helped in the short term and i've had success with acupuncture but felt that I needed a long term solution to correct my bad posture. To say that I've been pleased with the results would be an understatement of the positive effects I've experienced. I felt relief in my occiput and neck immediately and I continue to gain range of motion in my shoulder that I had previously accepted as limiting. However, the most unexpected results have been my increased energy and mood. It's hard not too smile when you're standing straighter and free from pain.
