Review content:
I purchased my fiance's engagement ring from DC back in October and was extremely pleased with my experience. I was in search of a yellow diamond and a very specific band. Up to that point I had been to a few places that had a very minimal selection of colored stones and were very pushy about the ones they did have. I was referred to DC by a friend and made an appointment with Carlee. Right off the bat I could tell that this place was different because Carlee took the time to give me a tutorial about how to rate a diamond and what to look for with specific stones. Since colored diamonds are graded differently than white diamonds, her knowledge was very helpful. I told her the cut, the price range and intensity of yellow i wanted and she came back with about 8 choices that were all in my price range! That was huge because the other places i went to had limited selections that were all well above my price range and the salespeople tried to pressure me into exceeding my budget. Once i narrowed down my choices, Carlee instructed me on how to view the stone and use the magnifying lens to test the clarity and find any imperfections. I finally decided on a beautiful, cushion-cut, canary yellow diamond. They didn't have the type of band i wanted in shop, but Carlee had a guy she works with in the building, who can design a band exactly to your liking. She emailed me a virtual computer program that allowed me to design my ring and it was made within a week. It turned out exactly how i wanted it and my fiance thinks it is perfect. Her friends and family love it and she has even been complimented by numerous strangers on how beautiful it is. Another huge bonus about DC - they offer 0% interest financing through Wells Fargo!! All in all, since DC is a wholesaler, they have a more laid back nature and are much more fun to work with. You can tell they focus on helping the customer get exactly what they want instead of trying to oversell people like other diamond stores. They have a huge selection and I plan on buying my fiance's wedding band their too. A+ to Carlee and Diamonds Chicago. Pros: No pressure, lots of options, knowledgable staff
