I went to fix a problem on my check engine light. The tech said it was an I.A.C valve and he has replaced so many in his 10 years working there. He said the part costs $300 and it takes 2 hours of labor, so $120. I accepted it thinking it must be an expensive job and I thought my engine will be damaged if I don't repair it. When I get back home, I find the parts prices on the Internet and found that even the most expensive one costs only around $80. You can gets from Autozone for $50. The parts has only two bolts attached to it and it is easy to reach when you open your hood. Anyone can replace it within 10 mins. When I paid that inflated $500 price tag for a simple repair, the manager said he asked his mechanic to remove the $50 diagnostics from the part price, so I am get a discount. On my additional research, I found that the highest price charged by a Ford dealer is $500 with genuine part. Never again with these crooks! So, let me be the last victim! BEWARE!!! Pros: None Cons: Over inflated parts prices and labor for general repair
