Review content:
One of the things I love about visiting Portland is sampling new restaurants. The Riverview definitely goes in the ?visit again? category. During a recent visit, the restaurant?s lovely main room was full, but we were seated promptly. The tables were nicely spaced, so we never felt we could join the neighbor?s conversation. My halibut and crab entree was perfectly prepared and beautifully presented, as was my appetizer, the Belgian endive boat. My friends raved about their dishes as well. Service was attentive without being intrusive. The piano player offered a selection on tunes, covering a wide variety of styles, as he responded to requests from patrons but never dominated the room. He visited our table during the break?a very nice man. I look forward to a return visit, hopefully during warm weather when the deck overlooking the river will be open.
Pro - atmosphere, food, service, music
Con - none noted
