Compared to the Forest at Duke, Alterra Wynwood has a bit of a different focus--a focus on elderly who are in less good shape. As such the cost is high, but there is 24/7 staff on hand, emergency pull buttons in every room, and staff to help people get dressed, bath, eat, etc. Ultimately, no one really wants to be in a place like this, but Alterra is nicely decorated and makes a strong effort to keep the residents comfortable and entertained (they have a calendar of weekly events for example).
