Review content:
tend to judge a restaurant by the overall experience that I have, and lean heavily on "atmosphere" almost more so than food quality. With that being said, both are above average at Benjy's.
the atmosphere: trendy, modern, lively, arty, surprisingly unpretensious, although the seating itself is not very comfortable. Unless sitting on the extremeties of the restaurant, one can feel a bit self-conscious. Sitting in a corner or booth allows you to look around and take it all in, rather than feel like you're getting looked "at". Fan of the atmosphere overall; I feel a little hipper leaving there.
Food: very ecclectic although not a ton of choices. However, everything I've ever ordered has been tasty and memorable. Especially love the crusted chicken. Not my favorite place for brunch since i prefer something more casual for a happenin'-brunch-occasion.
Price: Food priced well, but the cocktails are pricey. Don't mind paying a little extra for a drink in their lounge upstairs though - now THAT's a place I recommend! Small, swank. intimate yet funky.
service: excellent
Overall, I've enjoy my experiences at Benji's, although after about 3 or 4 visits, you get bored with the whole thing. The newness wears off and hence, some of the charm.
